Immunization catch up program coming to School District 8

Students in the Kootenay Lake School District have the opportunity to get caught up with their vaccinations due to the Ministry of Health’s measles immunization program. Students who have not previously been immunized against measles or require their second dose are eligible.  A series of immunization catch-up clinic days will be scheduled, according to the school district. Parents are asked to watch for notices in school newsletters and on the website for notification of the dates. It’s expected to run April through June through the local health authorities.

It’s the first phase to prepare for a mandatory vaccination registry that will launch in September.

The Ministry of Health has provided the following links to help educate individuals about the program and vaccinations.
