A new pilot project in Nelson aims to help residents reduce their energy use. You can now access a mapping tool called MyHEAT which shows whether heat is escaping from your home. Eco Save Program Manager Carmen Proctor explains.
Proctor says once you learn where heat is escaping from your home, there are ways to fix it.
Home owners can also borrow up to $16,000 for energy upgrades. So far over $600,000 has been lent out as part of the program.
Proctor says residents can attend an info session coming up on June 6 at the Adventure Hotel.
Proctor says you can save up to 30 per cent or more by upgrading things like insulation, doors, windows, and draft proofing your home.
