16 homes in the Six Mile area are no longer on Evacuation Alert after a mud slide on Sunday. The Regional District of Central Kootenay says it was rescinded on May 2 at 10:00am after their evaluation and assessment with the Ministry of Forests, Lands, and Natural Resource Operations. However, Director for the RDCK’s Emergency Operations Centre, Andrew Bellerby, is asking those in the area to remain vigilant as mud slides and landslides are common this time of year.
