Ainsworth residents want proper consultation after mailboxes moved

Ainsworth residents are looking for a better solution after their community mailboxes were moved last week.  Regional District of Central Kootenay Director for Area D Aimee Watson is hoping to work with Canada Post to find another spot.

She says the community mailboxes were moved from Ainsworth Hot Springs to Jones Boys Boats, about four kilometers away. Watson says there was no notice to those affected, about 60 people.

She says the process started a few months ago and feels it could have been handled differently.

Watson says another business would have to agree to house the Canada Post retail outlet, otherwise residents will have to go to Kalso.
