The Regional District of Central Kootenay has placed 16 homes in the 6 Mile area between Nelson and Balfour on evacuation alert. This is due to a mudslide near Heddle Road around 1 pm on Sunday, April 29. The slide didn’t cause any injuries or damage. The RDCK says there is no imminent danger to life or property but people in the area should be ready to leave on short notice if needed.
