Nelson’s only drive-through won’t be moving to 24-7 service. A&W is currently open from 5:30am to 9:00pm, but was looking to be open around the clock. On Monday, Nelson City Council decided the latest it could stay open was 11:00pm. Mayor Deb Kozak says with the City’s plans for the Railtown area, having a 24-7 drive-through wouldn’t fit.
Kozak adds it’s just the drive-through hours that are restricted.
Councillor Bob Adams voted against the restriction. He feels it doesn’t make sense.
The City prohibits drive-throughs from operating in Nelson, however A&W was grandfathered in.
