Interim rate increase in effect for Nelson Hydro

Nelson Hydro’s rate increase of 2.25 per cent came into effect on April 1, however, Nelson Hydro Manager Alex Love says there’s still a chance that number may change.

Love says in this case Nelson Hydro was granted an interim rate change, which isn’t uncommon. He says it allows the BC Utilities Commission more time for reviewing the application. He’s expecting to know the final rate this summer.

Love says it’s rare that the BC Utilities Commission would come back with a different rate, however if that does happen Nelson Hydro would increase or decrease rates accordingly.
