Seniors’ affordable housing development in Slocan has new name

Work continues on the new seniors affordable housing developments being built in the Village of Slocan. Rita Moir, President of the Slocan Valley Senior’s Housing Society, says they’re pouring the concrete for the second fourplex while the first building will have its siding and interior drywall up soon.

Moir is also very excited to announce they’ve come up with a name.

She says they’re planning for occupancy in the late fall. In the meantime, they’re still waiting to hear whether funding will come through from BC Housing and the Columbia Basin Trust for a third building.

Moir says applications are still open for anyone interested in moving in.
