Second Lieutenant Brittnee Wallin granted Commissioning Scroll

A Nelsonite was one of those granted a Commissioning Scroll from Governor General Julie Payette recently.

Second Lieutenant Brittnee Wallin was presented her scroll last week signed by both the Governor General and Minister of National Defense.

Major Kevin DeBiasio says it comes after she graduated from the cadet program in Nelson.

Second Lieutenant Wallin is a reserve officer of the Canadian Armed Forces and is assigned to work with 561 Squadron Royal Canadian Air Cadet in Nelson.

Major DeBiasio says it’s a busy time for the program right now

He says the squadron always welcomes new cadets between the ages of 12 and 18.
