The West Kootenay Eco-Society is turning it’s focus to other municipalities in the region.
The City of Nelson has committed to 100% renewable energy by 2050.
Executive Director Matthew Carroll says reducing fossil fuels is crucial in the fight against climate change.
He says the society is turning it’s attention to other communities in the Kootenays.

Carroll says they hope to work with Nelson on the Strategic Planning Process for 2019.
The Village of Slocan and Nelson represent two of the six communities in Canada that have committed to 100% renewable energy by the halfway mark of the century.
