West Kootenay welcomes its new year babies

Hospital staff in Trail and Nelson have delivered the first two babies in our region for the new year.

Both births happened January 2.

The first happened at Nelson’s Kootenay Lake hospital at 8:36 am.

In Trail that evening at 6:47 pm father Scott Allen and mother Teresa Chang welcomed baby Madeline.

Allen says this is their first child.

He says they’ll have some excited familiy members waiting when they head back home to Rossland.
