Mungall announces BC Hydro rate freeze

Energy Minister Michelle Mungall has announced a freeze on BC Hydro rates until April 2019.

The Nelson-Creston MLA says spiraling electricity costs have made life less affordable for BC residents.

Mungall says the freeze will be in place while the crown corporation undergoes a review.

BC hydro serves the northern part of West Kootenay and also sells power to Fortis BC, which in turn sells to Nelson Hydro.
