October starts warm and dry, ends cool and wet

A dry and wet October has come and gone.

Weather forecaster Ron Lakeman with the Southeast Fire Centre says the month started off very dry.

The warmest day was the 5th when the mercury climbed to 18.8 degrees.

It fell to -3.4 on the 31st.

The average temperature was 7.6 degrees.

We saw 59.8 millimetres of rain which is slightly above our average of 49.4.
