Local MP continues farmers market tour

Our local MP continues his advocacy for small business agriculture and the environment with a visit to Nelson today.

Kootenay-Columbia New Democrat Wayne Stetski is on a summer tour of farmers markets and will be at this evening’s MarketFest.

Stetski has presented a private members bill calling for the Friday before Thanksgiving each year to become National Local Food Day.

He’s also talking with local mills to see if short term help from the Liberal government is helping regarding softwood tariffs and to determine what mills want in a new agreement with the United States.
