Mungall assures LNG industry after Petronas withdrawal

BC’s new Minister of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources says the province is still a player in the liquefied natural gas industry.

Michelle Mungall was speaking after the Pacific Northwest consortium announced they had cancelled their $36 billion project at Port Edward.

The companies cited market conditions.

Mungall said she would be acting quickly to reassure other LNG stakeholders in BC.

The NDP supports LNG while their Green Party partners do not.
