Stay vigilant, report smoke quickly:Nelson Fire & Rescue

Don’t assume someone else has called in a fire or smoke when it’s sighted.

MacCharles says Nelson residents are hugely knowledgeable and respectful of the campfire and fireworks ban in city limits.

But he wants us to stay vigilant and remind visitors of the rules.

The fire department’s mobile sprinkler protection unit (which features 130 sprinklers) is on standby in the event of a local wildfire situation.
