As a result of the heat wave, the City of Nelson is implementing Level 1 mandatory water conservation measures.
If you have an even-numbered address, you can use sprinklers or irrigation systems only on Wednesdays and Saturdays between 4 and 9 a.m. and 7 and 10 p.m.
If you have an odd-numbered address you can only water on Thursdays and Sunday between the same hours.
There are no restrictions on hand watering if you use a shut-off nozzle. If you have new sod or plantings and want to water outside of these hours, you need to get a permit by contacting [email protected].
The city says dry conditions are “rapidly diminishing” this season’s deep snowpack, reducing the water available to the city’s reservoirs.
