‘Aggressive panhandling’ not the norm in Nelson:NPD

Nelson police say the arrest of an aggressive panhandler in the downtown is not indicative of the norm.

Detective Sgt Nate Holt is speaking to the arrest of a man Tuesday who has a long history with the NPD.

Holt says the man who was arrested and charged with breach of probation has been involved in 125 interactions with police.

He says that’s a big drain on resources for a small town like Nelson.
