A decision on the design of Nelson’s Cottonwood Park stage has been pushed back a few weeks.
Mayor Deb Kozak says that will give the city more time to talk to a couple of groups with the West Kootenay EcoSociety and Izu-Shi Friendship Society, who have both raised concerns.
The design by Cover Architecture calls for an unusual geometric shape and the use of cross-laminated timber, to be donated by local industry.
Kozak says she doesn’t expect it to please everybody.

Nelson city council will vote tonight on the look of the new plaza and stage for Cottonwood Falls Park.
If council signs off on it, the stage could be built by mid-summer.
