Nelson police have arrested a 25-year-old man following thousands of dollars of damage to businesses and vehicles overnight Saturday-Sunday.
At about 5 a.m. Sunday, police say they attended an alarm downtown after a report of a smashed window. While waiting for the property owner, they saw the suspect allegedly pick up a sandwich board and throw it into another business window.
Sgt. Dino Falcone said in a news release that the man was arrested and charged with two counts of mischief under $5,000. He’s been remanded pending a court appearance Tuesday.
Falcone said several businesses and vehicles were damaged and police believe the suspect acted alone.
They’re asking for any witnesses related to this investigation to contact them.
