Nelson city council has officially adopted an increase in parking meter fees, but it was a close vote.
Mayor Deb Kozak and councillors Robin Cherbo and Bob Adams were all against it.
Cherbo says he’d rather wait until after they make other changes to downtown parking.
You’ll soon have to fork over $1.25 per hour to park at most meters, up from a buck.
That will help increase the paving budget.
