Suspect arrested in pepper spray attack

A man is in custody in nelson accused of pepper spraying two other men.

Police say it happened in a downtown parking lot around midnight Sunday.

The suspect faces two counts of assault with a weapon plus three counts of breaching a court order.

He’s being remanded until his bail hearing this week.

In a separate incident, a man who slapped somebody’s buttocks in Nelson will also be appearing in court.

Police responded to a complaint of an assault.

When they arrived they discovered that a man had slapped the complainant’s posterior in front of their child.

He was arrested for sexual assault.
