Final draft of downtown design strategy released

It’s your chance to comment on the final draft of Nelson’s downtown design strategy.

The document is now online and will be presented at an open house April 20 at the Adventure Hotel from 4 until 7 p.m.

Senior planner Megan Squires says it’s a comprehensive vision for the city’s core.

Other priorities include redesigning the amenity areas and moving the bus exchange from Ward Street to Victoria Street.

There are also sections on public art and improving sidewalks, intersections, and lanes.

Squires says now they want to know what you think.
