Effort to link robbery suspects to other regional crimes

There is an elaborate inter-agency effort by Regional Police Detachments to link all the recent armed robberies in our region to the couple already charged in the two incidents in Nelson.

RCMP Corporal Darryl Orr says reports to Crown Counsel are currently being put together to lay even more charges against 33 year old Andrew Stevenson and 26 year old Krista Kalmikoff.

He says there has been a tremendous amount of work done by everyone involved.

Stevenson and Kalmikoff also face charges of break and enter at two Castlegar pharmacies.

Police are looking to link them to robberies at Johnny’s Grocery in Robson, the Kootenay Savings Credit Unions in Salmo and Castlegar and Shoppers Simply.
