Going back in time with recycling changes: Councillor

The City of Castlegar is going back in time with the changes from the Multi Material BC Recycling Program.

So says Councillor Sue Heaton Sherstobitoff after a motion was passed to express concerns about the BC-wide initiative to the Province.

Sherstobitoff says they are using the financial incentives received from the province to sign up for the program just to cover a contractor to pick up glass – that is not included by MMBC.

She adds they had a progressive curbside pick up system that allowed glass to be thrown in with plastics.
