A contract’s been awarded to resurface a portion of the Great Northern Trail above Nelson.
But it’ll only be 2.6 kilometers worth rather than the original goal of 5.1 kilometers.
That’s because for the second time the bids came over budget so the Regional District of Central Kootenay had to modify the project.
Selkirk Paving got the job for $126,000.
It’s being paid for in part by a $70,000 grant from Bike BC.
The work is between Svoboda Road and Mountain Station.
