A Trail City Councillor supports the move to renew the local Curling Association’s lease contract but says the continuous waiving of fees needs to stop.
Sean MacKinlay was the lone Councillor to vote against the Association’s request to forgive three payments from the 2013/2014 season.
In total Council has waived 11 lease fees for the Association since 2010.
The group will operate with two fewer ice sheets next season to see if more money can be saved.
However, MacKinlay believes more needs to be done if the association is going to be sustainable.
