Work gets underway this week to improve the Mountain Station parking lot in Nelson.
The project will see a newly paved surface along with proper drainage.
The Burlington Northern rail trail will also be re-routed around the parking area.
The majority of the construction will take place over the long weekend and paving begins Sept. 12.
There could be some minor traffic disruptions.
