Organizers of the Queens Bay swim-in on Sunday say the event drew more than 300 swimmers.
They showed up to demonstrate their support for the beach which could become home to parking lot.
The Ministry of Transportation is considering moving the Balfour ferry terminal to Queens Bay.
“We are here today to help drive a stake through the heart of the idea of turning this beautiful beach into a parking lot,” said John Betts, speaking on behalf of the Queens Bay Residents’ Association, which organized the event.
