Kootenay Lake School District is welcoming transportation funding from the province.
SD-8 is eligible for just over $419, 000 to make transportation more affordable and accessible.
Superintendent Jeff Jones says they will now determine where it’s most needed.
The funding can be used in a variety of ways including improving service routes and access to local transit, reducing ride times and boosting student safety.
The district has until September 30th to submit its plan to be considered.
