Nine Notre Dame University alumni who came to Nelson from Hong Kong are holding their 45-year reunion this week.
Retired Alberta government planner Stephen Siu says he and his classmates were here in the early 1970s.
He came to escape the British colonial education system — choosing Nelson based on word-of-mouth and a brochure.
The alumni and their spouses arrived Monday and are here through Thursday.
They held their first reunion in 2011Â and are already planning a 50-year reunion for 2021.
