It doesn’t look like the B.C government will offer any funding to take down Trail’s derelict Old Bridge…but it may provide money for the construction of a new one.
This from CAO David Perehudoff after the City met with the Ministry of Transportation recently in Victoria to discuss a potential cost sharing agreement to remove the worn out structure.
Perehudoff says the province was concerned they would be setting a precedent if they gave money to demolish it.
Trail plans to use their annual gas tax revenue to pay back a loan that would fund their share of the proposed new $9.8 million pedestrian pipe bridge.
