A food policy council is being launched for the Central Kootenay.
It’s a joint venture between the RDCK, Community Futures and BC Food Systems Network.
Project Coordinator Abra Brynne says it will pull together those in the food production sector and local government.
Brynne says the council’s goal is to identify redundant initiatives and to create effective partnerships.
Its mandate will cover agriculture, community economic development, education, the environment, hunger, health and policy.
