Jewett school to remain open, but questions remain

The Kootenay Lake school board will keep a school in Meadow Creek but changes may still be on the way.

This week the board voted to use a new provincial grant to keep Jewett elementary operating.

But trustee Dawn Lang says they’ll continue to explore selling the building and leasing it back.

Another option is to build an addition on the Lardeau Valley community hall and move the school there.

Jewett has about 15 students in K to 5.
