The Gilpin wildfire near Grand Forks is nearly fully contained.
The 224 hectare blaze next to Highway 3 started Tuesday midday. The BC Wildfire Service reports it is now 80% contained.
There are 42 personnel on site with heavy equipment and the support of one helicopter. Crews are mopping up the perimeter.
The Gilpin Forest Service Road remains closed until further notice.
