New GM for Kootenay Co-op

The largest co-operative in our region has a new General Manager for a new era.

Allan Broom will run the Kootenay Co-op store, which is being built on the ground level of the $26 million Nelson Commons development.

It will be three times bigger than the current one.

Broom says that offers a much nicer shopping experience for their 14,000 members, but it’s more than that.

Broom has extensive Canadian and international business experience and has family ties to the Kootenays.

The new co-op store is due for completion in the fall with up to 35 more jobs created.
