Did convicted local robber Krista Kalmikoff know that she was an accomplice to armed robbery?
That’s the crux of a technical argument in her sentencing hearing in Nelson Supreme Court.
Her then partner Andrew Stevenson used a shot gun in the robberies of the currency exchange and credit union in 2014.
He’s serving a ten year jail term.
Kalmikoff was the getaway driver and a jury convicted her on several counts.

But the defence argues there is no evidence to confirm she knew Stevenson was carrying a concealed shot gun.
This may influence what minimum sentence she should receive.
Regardless, the prosecution is seeking a total of five years.
