The lone taxi company in Grand Forks is struggling to make a go of it and has applied for fare increases.
Owner William Schneider says he has regular customers who need his service.
…and weekend nights customers will use him so there’s no drinking and driving worries.
He says the arson attacks that destroyed the two hotels in town a few years back wiped out 25% of his business and he needs the increases to stay viable.
He’s applied to increase his flag rate to $4.30 and then $2.41 per kilometer.
