Start putting provincial taxpayers dollars into rural education now !
That’s the message in a petition from the Kootenay-Columbia School District Parent Advisory Council (DPAC) as it starts its campaign to protest a lack of funding in public education.
Rebecca McDonnell has two children at schools in Castlegar and is the chair of the District PAC.
She says the BC government announced a long-term $100 million LNG Prosperity Fund in their February budget but the money is needed in schools right now.

SD 20 may vote to charge for bussing later this month.
McDonnell hopes parents across the district use their voice and sign the petition.
