RDKB ponders groundwater concerns in Oasis

Unstable soil under a family’s home in Oasis near Trail has forced their evacuation.

It appears the soil has been destabilized by groundwater which runs through the area. The homeowners are seeking professional advice on their specific issue.

GM of Operations with the RDKB Mark Andison says they are trying to find out what can be done to mitigate the problem on the wider community level.

About forty people attended a public meeting this week and the community has indicated they would like to see a proper drainage system developed for the area.
