The Community Voter Challenge asked several local governments in the Kootenays to promote the friendly rivalry.
Rossland had a 12.7% increase in voter numbers compared to the 2011 election with an 81% turn-out.
New Denver and Castlegar were second and third.
Here’s one of the organisers Mike Chapman.
Poll-by-poll numbers released by Elections Canada shows voter turn-out in our two federal ridings was 73%, higher than the national and provincial numbers.
