Alleged armed robbers face more charges

For the first time we are hearing the couple charged with the armed robbery of the Nelson District Credit Union last week are alleged to have been involved in other crimes in our area.

Court documents show 33 year old Andrew Stevenson is charged with firing a gun and disguising himself in the intent of committing a crime on April 11th. That’s when the currency exchange in Nelson was the target of an armed robbery.

And both he and 26 year old Krista Kalmikoff are charged in connection with a break and enter in Castlegar on Good Friday. Two pharmacies were targeted that day.
