Another dry year for Arrow Lakes?

Another dry year may be coming to the Arrow Lakes meaning low levels and potential damage to tourism and recreation.

Rural Director Paul Peterson says they just want consistency so people can plan for boating.

When it’s dry across the Pacific Northwest there is more demand for water in the United States.

But Peterson wants future Columbia River Treaty negotiations to have assurances for local communities.

Short-term freshet levels aren’t yet clear but longer term forecasts are calling for another drier than normal summer.
