The province has announced $40 million in funding to help school districts repair, upgrade and improve facilities.
Teresa Rezansoff is the President of the BC School Trustees Association and Boundary School District Chair.
She says this money isn’t for things like rebuilds but to bolster local capital funds for crucial emergency fixes.
She says last year for example the Boundary district was able to apply to this “Fix-it” fund to get about $100,000 in dust-collectors. Without that the workshops at their two high schools could not have been used.
