Study reveals positives for Nelson businesses

Findings from a number of surveys recorded last year paint a positive picture for business retention and expansion in Nelson.

Andrea Wilkey, Executive Director for Community Futures Central Kootenay, says the information gathering was quite extensive.

Wilkey says over half of the businesses surveyed anticipated expanding in the next few years and most businesses stated the market for their various products is growing.

She said there are things to work on such as engaging youth to be more involved with the work force by supporting work-force recruitment.
