The commissioning of the new $27 million ferry at Nakusp is delayed for about a month.
It was due to enter service next month.
But John Harding with ship builder Waterbridge Steel says there was a medical issue with the specialist sub-contractor looking after the propellers.
But work is underway again.
Lake trials will start in the coming weeks.
Harding figures the 80-vehicle, 250-passenger ferry should be working the Galena Bay-Shelter Bay route by June.
