Kootenays set for own wineries region?

A call to increase the number of wine regions in BC would benefit our wider area.

The proposed expansion recommends an additional four regions including one for the
Kootenays.

Bob Johnson, owner of Baillie-Grohman Estate Winery in Creston says it’s a positive move.

The BC Wine Task Group is behind the move to expand BC Wine Country.

Other recommendations call for an end to the taste panels and a reduction in the number of audits wineries are required to do.

All changes need to be approved by the industry prior to implementaton.
