CGR councillor questions garbage change

Castlegar city council is pondering switching to a system that could see household waste collected only every two weeks.

But councilor Bruno Tassone is not on board with the notion that this would reduce conflict with wildlife.

The two week collection model will be discussed at an open house this evening at the Castlegar Community Forum from 5:30 pm till 7 pm.

Most of council favors the switch, saying it will also save money and help reduce the amount of waste heading to local landfills
