Despite a BC Transit funding freeze for the next 3 years the government says there will not be any service cuts.
This from Castlegar Mayor Lawrence Chernoff after a meeting with the Ministry Of Transportation in Vancouver this week.
Chernoff is also chair of the West Kootenay Transit Committee.
He has made it clear to senior officials that he does not want to see any backward steps in the recent expansion of local bus services.
There are still concerns about how services can remain intact during a funding freeze based on annual cost of living increases and inflation.
