Someone must know armed robbery suspect:Police Chief

The Chief of Nelson Police believes someone knows about the desperate actions of the suspect or suspects behind the rash of armed robberies in our area.

Wayne Holland is speaking after the Kootenay Currency Exchange on Vernon Street was targetted early Friday afternoon.

On this occasion the hooded suspect – who seems similar to the one described in the other armed robberies – actually fired his shotgun although not at staff inside.

The suspect left on a small bicycle with dropped handle bars and Holland says it’s possible he rode to a vehicle parked nearby.

He says it’s too early to say if the robbery is linked to those in Castlegar, Salmo and

Robson.

The suspect there is also described as 5-foot-8 wearing a hoodie, cap and or mask and brandishing a shotgun.
